Even though i have had many close encounters and narrow shaves with sloth bears while on foot in the wilds of Sri Lanka, I have still not had a good photo opportunity. Reason being that most times I have come across bears they are either charging, or I am too scared to be thinking about taking a photograph. Also I have had a few other really great sightings many years ago while on safari in yala but did not have the necessary optical equipment to take a good picture. The latest two encounters occured very late during the day and thus the photographs had to be taken at a very high iso resulting in lots of noise.
I hope that the correct opportunity like this will pass my way soon.
